Evaluation of singing voice similarity based on "acoustic singing-structure"

(in English) In this paper, we investigate the acoustic characteristics affecting auditory impressions, a "vocal timbre" and a "way of singing", by using the novel acoustic representation of a singing voice called an "Acoustic Singing Structure".
The acoustic singing-structure is constructed by decomposing the singing voice into a number of acoustic characteristics unique to the singing voice.
We did the comparative analysis of the similarities among the auditory impressions calculated by using the acoustic singing-structure and similarities evaluated through psychoacoustic experiments.
The results showed the similarity about the vocal timbre could be calculated by using a vocal range and lower formant frequencies.
And the similarities about the way of singing were calculated by using the vocal range, the lower formant frequencies, and some dynamic characteristics.
By using the acoustic singing-structure, differences of evaluation among individuals were calculable.
