Both a shotgun microphone and microphone-array have a super-cardioid polar pattern (It is called "beam"). It suppress noise located at another direction, but it cannot suppress noise located at the same direction
as signal. In this paper, we have proposed a "spot-forming" method by using two shotgun microphones. Two shotgun microphones are located with different directions each other. This system only record the sound located in the cross point of two "beams." From the experimental results showed that the proposed method could suppress noise located in front of or behind the target speaker, especially lower frequency band. |
