Study on Striking Rhythm System of Ethnic Musical Instruments by Using Markers and a Tablet Device

(in English) In some of museums where ethnic musical instruments are displayed, they provides interactive displays by playing these musical instruments. It is efficiently to come in touch with background of them, but it is not easy to play at site rhythmically. Therefore, in this paper, we describe our study to develop the striking rhythm system of ethnic musical instruments. The purpose of this study is developing the system which allows users to striking the rhythm session freely. The system use the tablet PC and markers which are set rhythm patterns of them. And the user can assemble the markers and make the rhythm. As a result, we held a workshop by using the prototype system and confirm the operation.
