[Invited Talk] Biometrics application situation for social infrastructure and its future subject

(in English) Biometrics is mainly applied to the field of finance and administration business area in dedicated devices, while it is applied to the other area in general-purpose equipments such as mobile and gate management equipments. Toward 2020 Olympic in Tokyo, it is expected that research and development of multi-factor and integrated authentication will be held as well as individual elements technology. As evaluation of vulnerability and accuracy of biometrics and the privacy protection will remain concern, challenges and the standardization status are described. Furthermore, while the cloud, IoT and bio-sensing technologies are rapidly advancing, it is proposed that the direction of Identity Science should be considered anew.
