(in English) Our research framework for developing possible new types of pruned crossbar switches is described in this technical report. We begin with an outline of pruned crossbar switches that have been introduced recently. We also show the basics of crossbar switches from our original point of view, followed by several definitions. Finally, we show the goals and approaches of our study on the pruned crossbar switches. Note that new pruned crossbar switches proposed by the Author will be described in upcoming issues. Although pruned crossbar switches have a little practical implications, our study will contribute to a better understanding of switching technologies, to be included in standard text books.
