Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) As the method for quantitative liver tissue characterization, we have been focusing on texture analysis by using co-occurrence matrix. Because the texture of ultrasonic B-mode image of fibrotic liver contains the information with regard to tissue structure such as tubers surrounded by fibrous tissue, it is expected that the information of the liver pathology can be quantitatively extracted by using texture future calculated from co-occurrence matrix of the image. It is known that B-mode image is affected by the three-dimensional-profile of ultrasonic beam formed in transmitting and receiving the echo signal. In this paper, we focused on the ultrasonic beam width in slice-direction which contributes to contrast resolution of the B-mode image and examined the quantitative relationship between the texture features of the image and the slice-resolution of ultrasonic beam.
