(in English) Demand on wider frequency band for wireless communication system has moved people to look into millimeter wave region as new resource to be developed. While, recent market started with automotive radars and imaging sensors focusing on the original nature of millimeter-wave. Semiconductor technology has made a lot of steps to meet the requirement for high-frequency applications, from pioneering work with compound semiconductor devices to recent mass products with silicon devices. Especially, CMOS technology has shown a remarkable progress into millimeter-wave region. In this paper, I introduce the technology trend and challenge in recent semiconductor devices for millimeter-wave application.
