Proposal of Maintenance-Free-oriented Optical Transport Network and Demonstration of its Key Technologies

(in English) Looking ahead to the coming aging society with fewer children, the network operation is desired to improve its workload-efficiency drastically. We propose a novel optical transport network, “Maintenance-Free-Oriented Optical Transport Network”, which can reform the conventional on-site network operation “truck-rolls” to “scheduled maintenance”. We describe the key technologies to realize such a network and explain the features of the programmable reliability and highly-efficient spare resource sharing and its allocation. Finally, we report the result of live-demonstration using the proposed key technologies.
