[Invited Talk] Application of Compressed Sensing to Communication Networks

(in English) In this article, we introduce compressed sensing and its applications in communication networks. Compressed sensing is an emerging theory in signal/image processing, and it enables us to acquire a sparse solution in an ill-posed linear inverse problem. When using compressed sensing in some applications of communication networks, we need to consider that the assumption of the sparsity is natural in these applications. We first explain the basic idea of vector and matrix recovery problems in compressed sensing. We then explain three applications of compressed sensing: data delivery schemes in wireless sensor networks, network tomography, and wireless tomography, and we discuss the sparsity in these applications.
