Information data being transmitted must be routed through various physical transmission paths with various physical transmission mediums. Therefore, it seems natural that a radio system is also connected to various other transmission systems. In radio services with a lot of radio access points, such as mobile services, the collaboration of the other transmission system will be unavoidable. In this paper, a basic element common to the purpose of various transmission systems collaborated with radio links on a physical layer, which called “Radio over X (RoX)”, is proposed. Then, a new scheme of an efficient transmission on a physical layer, which is called “modulation-symbol-format maintaining transmission”, is also proposed. In these proposals, the functional definition of a media conversion is a key. Moreover, as examples of application to next generation mobile services, some experimental demonstrations are shown. |
