A Method of Facilitating Counterexample Analysis in Model Checking

(in English) Model checking is an effective technique in order to verify the behavior of the system. We have proposed a method to find the discrepancy between the behavior of the source code and the specifications by using model checking technology. To identify the cause of defects, it is necessary to analyze the counterexample. However, since the counterexample is a trace of the state transitions, it is necessary to analyze the meaning by tracking the complex state transitions to find the cause. In this paper, we propose a method to facilitate the analysis of complex counter examples in model checking by automatically generating an expression which narrows the cause of defects.
