A study on polarization splitter using single-polarization photonic crystal fiber

(in English) In this paper we demonstrated the design accuracy of the polarization splitter using elliptical-hole core circular-hole holey fibers (EC-CHF) which is designed by the FSM of core region, and we have also investigated the tolerance and wavelength dependence of the polarization splitter. In order to satisfy the phase matching condition, we have used the FSM of core region which is simpler than using the mode of waveguide to design the device.Here, we discussed the design accuracy of FSM in details. We have also demonstrated that a polarization splitter with the small holes has a larger tolerance and a smaller wavelength dependence than a device with the large holes. At last, we have also designed the polarization splitter and a polarization converter using square lattice EC-CHFs.
