(in English) Self-directed beam forming system is to calculate phase difference from signals received at each element of the
array antennas with digital signal processing and estimate the direction of arrival of the signal, and form a main beam to the
direction. If we consider applying this method to broadband communication, the receiver is required to process broadband
signals as many as antenna elements, thus, the method is difficult to realize[1]. In this paper, we propose self-directed beam
forming system with low loop control. In this method, we calculate phase difference from only low frequency component of
the received signal and control beam forming. If we use the proposed method, self-directed beam forming system can be realized with reasonable performance ADCs (Analog-to-Digital Converter) and the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) in broadband communication. When the number of the antenna elements is n and bandwidth of low frequency component is 1/m of the received signal bandwidth, power consumption of the ADCs can be decreased to 1/n and the processing speed of the DSP can be decreased to 1/m. The proposed method is verified that the received signals can be phase shifted and added correctly by simulation.
