(in English) In this paper, we study on the function-expansion-based topology optimization method for efficient design of three-dimensional photonic circuit devices. In our approach, as an initial structure of the three-dimensional topology optimization, two-dimensionally designed structure based on effective index method (EIM) is used to reduce the three-dimensional numerical computation. In order to suppress the complicated fine structures which are sometimes generated in the topology optimized structures, the expansion function of the function expansion method are discussed and the structural smoothing filter is introduced.
