Recently, we proposed space-time block coded (STBC) cooperative amplify-and-forward (Co-AF) relay (STBC-Co-AF relay) and showed that STBC-Co-AF relay outperforms Co-AF relay while keeping relay station structure simple. However, the past study for STBC-Co-AF relay assumed channel state information (CSI) of the channels of the source node-to-the relay node and the relay node-to-the destination node can be perfectly estimated at destination node. In this paper, we proposed cyclic delay pilot channel estimation (CDP-CE) for STBC-Co-AF relay. In the proposed scheme, pilot reverse modulation, conjugate operation and multiplying cyclic delay pilot are performed to the received signal from source node at the relay node, and then, the relay node amplifies and forwards it to the destination node. At the destination node, channel estimation is performed viewing a concatenation of the channels of the source node-to-the relay node link and the relay node-to-the destination node link as an equivalent channel. We evaluate, by the computer simulation, the average bit error rate (BER) performance and End-to-End throughput performance when using proposed CDP-CE for STBC-Co-AF relay and show that the effectiveness of proposed CDP-CE. |
