This paper evaluates transmission performance with a non-linear distortion noise power control (DNC) method which controls non-linear distortion noise power according to required transmission quality of modulation schemes used in OFDM transmission systems for cognitive radio. This DNC method controls noise power added in a transmitter by clipping and filtering. Distortion noise power characteristics to clipping levels with the DNC method are evaluated by computer simulations and from these results the set clipping levels and distortion noise ratios for filtering are determined. The results of spectrum properties and BER performance with the DNC method show that the DNC method can control distortion noise power to satisfy required transmission quality of modulation schemes. |
