In recent years, an ad hoc network which can be configured autonomously by terminals without network infrastructures such as access points has been paid attention as useful network configuration technologies for various scenes. Generally, terminals in an ad hoc network are driving with the battery powered system. Therefore, to extend the network life-time by power-saving of each terminal is one of the important issues in employment of the ad hoc network. One of the solutions for this issue is to reduce the power consumption of each terminal by suppressing the radio transmission range of each terminal, but suppressing the radio transmission range causes degradation of reachability of user data for each terminal. Previous study has been proposed the method of designing the radio transmission range using “Target problem” to improve both power saving and each terminal’s reachability in an ad hoc network. However, our proposed method has not been evaluated considering routing protocols. In this study, we set the transmission range of each terminal by our proposed method. Next, we evaluate our method considering routing protocols, and we clarify the applicability of our proposed method to the routing protocol. |
