Cortical dipole imaging has been proposed as a method to visualize electroencephalogram (EEG) in high spatial resolution. In the present study, we aimed to improve the spatial resolution of the cortical dipole imaging by focusing on the filtering property when solving the inverse problem. We computed the optimal filtering property from various signal configurations and investigated the inverse estimation that makes the most of characteristics by approximating the shape of it with the sigmoid function. This method was compared with Tikhonov regularization, the truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD), and the truncated total least squares (TTLS) by the relative error in a computer simulation. As a result, the estimation accuracy was improved. |
