Electro-Optic Properties of Nano-Pore Dispersed Cholesteric Liquid Crystals with Varying Chiral Concentrations

(in English) The chiral dopant concentration dependence of the threshold voltage in nano-pore dispersed cholesteric liquid crystals (CLCs) is investigated. The nano-pore dispersed CLCs, which have nanosized pores in the polymer matrix, were fabricated by photopolymerizing a mesogenic monomer and a CLC mixture in the LC phase. Although the threshold voltage of a conventional CLC is known to be linearly proportional to the chiral dopant concentration, the threshold voltage of the nano-pore dispersed CLC showed no dependence on the chiral dopant concentration.
