Color Breakup Assessment of DLP Projectors based on Perceived Image Simulation

(in English) This paper presents image quality metrics for evaluating the color breakups of DLP projectors. In general, color breakups are categorized into two cases; due to smooth-pursuit eye-tracking and due to saccades. Conventional image quality metrics that evaluated color breakup artifacts focus on the color breakups due to either smooth pursuit eye-tracking or saccades. Thus, this paper presents color breakups assessment method due to both smooth pursuit eye-tracking and saccades. First, we develop a perceived image simulator of color breakups. The color breakup criteria are calculated from the simulated perceived images. Finally, we analyzed the relationship between the objective and subjective experimental results.
