Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding with Cholesky Decomposition for Multi-user MIMO

(in English) Multi-user Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) is regarded as one of key techniques to increase
system throughput in cellular systems and wireless local area networks. This report proposes a new multi-user MIMO system. It is a downlink multi-user MIMO system in which receivers have a number of antennas. In the proposed systems, cholesky decomposition is introduced to apply Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding (THP) based on MMSE. We show two actual configurations of the proposed multi-user MIMO systems. One is a multi-user MIMO system to multiply a unitary matrix by received signal. The other is that to detect a desired signal with successive interference cancellation (SIC). We evaluated the BER performance and the frequency utilization efficiency of proposed systems by computer simulation.
