Query Evaluation and Update on XML Documents Compressed by Tree Grammars

(in English) XML documents often contain same repetitive substructures and various compression methods have been proposed. This paper proposes an evaluation method for a query and an update without uncompressing a document. We assume the compression based on SLCFTG. A query is given by a deterministic bottom-up tree automaton (DBTA) and an update is either of rename, delete or insert where the update positions are specified by DBTA. The paper also gives the experimental results to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
