A smart mixer is a novel audio signal mixer. It mixes audio signals on time-frequency plane made by short-term FFT. In previous proposed amplitude and phase processing, it was necessary to set the many parameters suitable for each audio signals. Therefore, we thought that an user adjusts the spectrum on the time-frequency plane directly and should give a guideline information of the mixing. In this research, we develop smart mixing system that be able to manipulate the spectrum at real-time by using an FPGA and a touch panel. In introducing FPGA, a culculation is made parallel and short-term FFT is able to process at real-time by one sampleshift. Therefore, degradation of a sound quality by interference between frames is eliminated.
In this paper, two proposal are described. First, we implement the smart mixer on an FPGA and propose the real-time mixing system. Second, we mount a touch panel to smart mixing system, and enable to manipulate the spectrum on the time-frequency plane. Also, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the method with which user of giving a guideline information of the mixing. |
