Residential areas in Japan are often located on a sloping ground neighboring urban district. In such area, the base station for cellular system is set at the place looking down or looking up at the cell area. The mobile path loss estimation for sloping area becomes one of the important functions in the small cell radio link design. Therefore, a correction method for the urban path loss formula is proposed considering the relative location between the base station and the sloping area. The method is for the case of the base station looking up at the sloping area. In this paper, applicability of the method is studied for the case of the base station looking down at the sloping area. The result shows the method is applicable for the base station looking down at the sloping area, and considerations of line of sight rate and average slope angle are necessary for estimation accuracy improvement. |
