Application of a vocal tract mapping interface to inverse estimation of vocal tract shapes

(in English) This paper describes the application of a vocal tract mapping interface to inverse estimation of vocal tract shapes. The vocal tract mapping interface is capable of generating a vocal tract shape with a simple mouse click on its interface window, and synthetic vowel sounds can be produced based on the shape. In this study, we attempted to apply the interface to inverse estimation of vocal tract shapes from information on the first- and second- formant frequencies. The improved interface provided us with reasonable results of the estimated vocal tract shapes from continuous vowel sounds for five speakers.
