Multichannel non-negative matrix factorization with orthogonality constraints for sound source separation

(in English) This paper proposes a blind source separation method based on multichannel non-negative factorization (NMF) with orthogonally constraints. The conventional multichannel NMF (MNMF) often incur a risk of varying the source separation performance. To reduce this risk, our method employs an orthogonality constraint. We derived a penalized multichannel NMF (PMNMF) algorithm using the constraints, and it forces each NMF bases to become no cross-correlation, which increases separated quality. Experimental result show that the estimated NMF bases exhibited no correlation with each others, and the proposed method was superior to the conventional method in the average performance.
