Contribution of head position for gaze prediction

(in English) Although there are a number of computational models that predict gaze position based on visual salience, the prediction accuracy is still not satisfactory. Since head moves in coordination with eyes to shift gaze, improvement of gaze prediction is expected if information of head movement is considered. We developed a computational model that uses the relationship of eye and head movements to modify visual salience by head orientation, and evaluated prediction accuracy of the gaze locations, which we obtained from viewing of a natural movie on an Ultra High Definition Display. The prediction accuracy is better with than without head orientations, indicating that head movements are important information for gaze prediction.
