Simulation analysis of endothelial function and pulse wave velocity

(in English) It is known that the early sign of atherosclerosis is a reduction of endothelial function. The assessment of FMD (Flow Mediated Dilation) has been widely used as a noninvasive method to evaluate the endothelial function. FMD is induced in response to changes in the mechanical structure of the vessel wall due to the blood flow stimulation. The changes in the mechanical structure of the vessel wall are supposed to affect the hemodynamics. In order to analyze the relationship between the mechanical structure and hemodynamics, simultaneous analysis of the hemodynamics and vasomotion is required. In this study, we proposed an integrated model of hemodynamics and vasomototion, and we simulated the FMD response. We also analyzed the relationship between PWV (Pulse Wave Velocity) and FMD response.
