Dynamic Almost Blank Subframe Assignment Method with Power Control for User Fairness

(in English) In HetNet (Heterogeneous Network), inter-cell interference is a serious problem. Therefore, almost blank subframe (ABS) technique used to indicate the transmission stop time (subframe) of base station (BS) is proposed to mitigate inter-cell interference. One of ABS techniques is dynamic ABS assignment, which is able to adapt to interference environments. However, sum rate decreases due to the increase of the number of ABS assignments in the dense deployment of BSs. In addition, if the number of ABS assignments of each BS increases, user equipment (UE) fairness becomes impaired due to difference of the number of UEs each BS serves. In this report, we propose dynamic ABS assignment method with power control subframe (PCS) and interference BS selection to improve UE fairness. In our proposed method, sum rate increases, because the number of ABS assignments of each BS decreases by applying PCS instead of ABS. Furthermore, we set ABS to BS serving low number of UEs to consider UE fairness. Through simulation, compared with conventional dynamic ABS assignment methods, the proposed method is shown to improve sum rate and UE fairness.
