Transcutaneous energy transmission system is a method for supplying power to ventricular assist device. In this study, we evaluated energy transmission efficiency in air and NaCl solution and eddy current loss in NaCl solution. When the transcutaneous transformer were immersed in 6 w/v%NaCl solution, the energy transmission efficiency of each transformer was higher than 94.1% for a transmission of 0.4 MHz, and the maximum eddy current loss was 1.0 W in 6 w/v%NaCl solution. |
