A Study on Quasi-Millimeter Wave Bandpass Filters with Transmission Zero Using Dual-mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide Resonators

(in English) In this paper, a novel dual-mode SIW bandpass filter (BPF) with two transmission zeros (TZs) in the lower and upper stopband is proposed, where TZs near the passband are utilized to achieve sharper skirt selectivity. The proposed filter is constructed by a square SIW dual mode cavity, input and output microstrip lines, and two coupling metalized via holes. In the proposed design method, the TZs are created without sacrificing the passband response by changing the perturbation’s size and position in the diagonal line of the square cavity. By using a full-wave electromagnetic simulator, the filter is designed with a center frequency of 24.878 GHz and a fractional bandwidth of 3.10 %. The measured frequency response of the 2-order SIW filter agrees well with the simulated result, and shows transmission zeros at about 22.99 GHz and 26.80 GHz, respectively.
