In recent years, with the development of the wireless communications technology, there is an increasing concern in the adverse effects of the radio waves on the human body. For microwave exposure, the dominant effect is temperature rise. In this study, with the use of a hybrid thermal analysis method that can take into account the blood temperature difference depending on the body part, we analyzed the temperature variation in the adult female and child. First, a result of the temperature rise is confirmed to be effective for ambient heat exposure. For exposure to a radio wave at a basic limit value of whole-body averaged SAR of 0.08W/kg prescribed by the ICNIRP guidelines, the core temperature elevation in the infant is found to be smaller than that of the adult female, which is attributable to the body surface to mass ratio. |
