The latency insertion method (LIM) has been proposed for the fast transient analysis of the large scale network. The LIM is much faster than the conventional SPICE like simulators. However, in the case of the analysing of the power distribution networks, the LIM is required to further speed-up. Thus, the general purpose computing on graphics processing units based (GPGPU)-LIM and the parallel-distributed LIM have been proposed for the efficient transient analysis. The parallel-distributed LIM is able to analyze the large-scale problems because the memory capacity is expanded when the number of PCs increases. However, in the GPGPU-LIM, the memory capacity and the computation speed are bounded by the graphics processing unit (GPU) board. Though, the GPU is much faster than the CPU. In the GPU-based method, it is required to expand the memory capcacy in order to analyze the large scale problem efficiently. Moreover, in order to improve the computation speed, the multi-GPU LIM is proposed for the efficient analysis for the large scale circuit network. In addition, the efficiency of the proposed method is estimated by some numerical results. |
