Pulse Duty Factor and Transmission Power Evaluation of Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Communication System for Body Area Network

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper presents the pulse duty factor and transmission power evaluation of direct sequence spread spectrum UWB communication system for body area network. A spreading code pulse is usually 100% pulse duty factor. In this research, UWB signals are made by using a lower pulse duty factor spreading code. Changing the pulse duty factor, the spreading code is expressed as a pulse train. Additionally, it increases time resolution for multipath reception in RAKE receiver. In this paper, we investigated the Bit Error Rate (BER) characteristics of using the low pulse duty factor spreading code and the IEEE802.15.6 channel models in low band and high band of UWB. Additionally we considered the minimal transmitting power from the results.
