A Study on Routing Control Scheme with Traffic Load Balance and QoS for Wi-Fi Mesh Networks.

(in English) In this paper, the routing method for Wi-Fi mesh network systems considering the traffic load balancing and QoS is proposed. The proposed routing method is based on OLSR protocol for Wi-Fi mesh links between base stations, and the traffic is categorized as real time and non-real time traffics according to applications for QoS. In the real time traffic, the amount of the traffic on each base station is measured, and the routing from the source base station to the destination base station without any base station having high traffic load is established with traffic load balancing. Computer simulations are carried out for evaluating the proposed routing method. The result shows that the effective condition for using traffic load balancing is the case that the amount of the traffic is between 33 percent of the link speed, and the routing with traffic load balancing for real time traffics can improve the throughput performance about 3.1 Mbps. Furthermore, the result also shows that the delay-time performances with traffic load balancing for real time have about 25[ms] times faster than that without traffic load balancing. Moreover, we shows that the traffic load balancing is not necessary for non-real time traffics.
