In sensor networks, all nodes are powered only by their battery. It is very important to suppress consuming power and expand the network life time as long as possible. From this purpose, the authors have proposed to improve the proactive routing protocol OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing) where each node can sleep for the time depended on its residual power. However, this method has two problems. Each node is active even when it does not need to send or receive any data, and then consumes its power. Some relay node may sleep, and then the communication may be delayed to find alternate relay node. In order solve this problem, this paper proposes a new improved OLSR where each node is grouped based on the number of hops from the sink node.methods. |
