We have been exploring an O2O (Online-to-offline) service that leverages an electronic coupon on a smartphone and digital signage on vehicle as a push media. In the O2O service, the digital signage on vehicle such as bus and train stimulates users to obtain the coupon by announcing it on vehicle, and drives conversion in the store, i.e., promotes the users to visit the store and purchase goods the coupon promotes. In this service scenario, it is necessary to estimate the purchase conversion in order to quantitatively evaluate the effect of the service.
Thus, we propose the bus ride estimation method using cellular radio characteristics in this paper. This method assumes that the similar characteristics are observed on same route. In modeling phase, the probability models of the Base Station ID series are created. In detection phase, the most coincident route is calculated from the observed Base Station ID series. We found that the accuracy of the bus ride estimation is 95.7 percent through the evaluation. |
