Video Summarization Based on Contents Similarity between User Specified-description and Video

(in English) Due to the wide spreading of camera devices, people record videos in everyday life, and such videos are sometimes shared through video blogs. Authoring video blog posts, however, is a time-consuming process which requires users to edit the videos to represent their intention. To facilitate creating videos, we propose a novel video summarization method that utilizes the text written by users. We formulate the problem of video summarization as an optimization problem, in which the objective function involves the content similarity between the summarized video and the text. We conduct a user study with 20 participants. Its result has shown that our proposed method is superior to conventional methods in terms of suitability to video blog posts.
