In this paper, path loss characteristics in multi frequency bands including micro wave, low millimeter wave, and millimeter wave are analyzed based on measurement results in urban street microcell environment. It is shown that the path loss increases compared to free space path loss even though on straight road of Line-of-Sight (LOS), and the attenuation is caused by path blocking by traffic signs and traffic lights. In addition, it is clarified that since the Fresnel zone becomes small in high frequency bands, the shielding attenuation occurred in narrow areas. However, in case that the blocking attenuation occurs, the path loss in high frequency bands become large compared to the low frequency bands. Finally, it is shown that the shielding loss caused by the shielding materials can be predicted by using diffraction loss of finite-width screen, and the calculation method can improve the RMS error of 3 dB compared to the free space path loss. |
