We have been studying Radio over fiber (RoF) using optical power feeding technique. It has both features of RoF and optical power feeding. The specified features are that the circuit-sizes are compact and electrical insulation properties are high compared with RF propagating circuits and RF cables. This technique contributes realization of low electromagnetic interference and compact systems without electrical power supply on local spots. In this paper, we reported the trial manufacture and evaluation of the compact PD module using optical power feeding, and demonstration of high accuracy measurement of radiation pattern form a monopole antenna. The bandwidth of the module is ~ 4GHz and it results in 20.6% improvement in the accuracy of radiation pattern measurement with 2.4GHz. |
