DTN Routing for Inter-Vehicle Communication based on Road Map and Traffic Information

(in English) A vehicular ad-Hoc network (VANET) consists of vehicular-mounted computers with wireless communication devices. It is anticipated to be a communication infrastructure for various ITS applications. Due to sparse distribution and high mobility of vehicular-mounted computers, DTN (Delay-Tolerant Network) protocols is required to be supported. For support of high mobility, location-based routing protocol is critical. This paper proposes the street restricted DTN routing where data messages are only transmitted along a sequence of street segments from a source computer to a destination one based on a stable road map information. In addition, for shorter transmission delay, this paper also proposes a novel route detection method based on the statistical traffic information to include more congested street segment in the transmission route of data messages.
