Implementation of a Hierarchical Multi-granular Path Network Resource Management System

(in English) Optical path network technology enables accommodation of large amount
of data traffic with low consumption power. In order to effectively
utilize optical path network, we designed hierarchical
multi-granular path network called ``dynamic optical path network
(DOPN).'' DOPN consists of multiple ``dynamic nodes (D-node)'', which
contain fiber, lambda and ODU switches.
In this study, we have developed a DOPN resource management system
that enables unified control of heterogeneous DOPN switches based on
the NSI standard, minimum cost path finding using a proposed network
topology description, and DOPN monitoring and visualization. From the
experiment using an actual eight D-node DOPN environment, we confirmed
that the developed system could provide multi-granular
paths with three different applications and could visualize the
reservation and resource statuses.
