Channel Switching Method Equalizing Sojourn Time of Sending Uplink and Downlink Flows in Multi-channel Wireless LAN

(in English) In recent years, wireless networks have been utilized in many situations. However, further increase in network capacity is essential in order to transfer large volume of traffic generated by various clients and applications. By introducing multi-channel environment, network capacity is increased while avoiding packet collisions and interferences. However, in cases that packet generation rate is different among sender stations, communication throughput decreases even though there is enough available network bandwidth in total. In order to allocate appropriate bandwidth to each wireless station according to its packet generation rate, we have proposed a channel switching method to direct each wireless station to use an appropriate channel to equalize time required to transmit all the buffered packets among wireless stations. In this paper, we futhermore propose intelligent channel selection control according to packet generation rate of both uplink and downlink flows. Finally, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method by computer simulation.
