A Routing Method using Link State Prediction for Wireless Smart-grid

(in English) In recent years, electrical power industry has payed much attention on smart-grid which is a fusion of
power supply network and information communication network. In wireless smart-grid, after routers construct an
ad hoc network, they forward electricity data to a server in a multi-hop manner. When constructing an ad hoc
network, each router chooses the best link out of candidate links based on a pre-de ned link metric, and PER
(Packet Error Rate) of link has been used as a link metric. Since link state dynamically changes with time, however,
the PER calculated in the past does not always correspond to the future link state, so the conventional link metric
cannot choose the link which is supposed to be the best when data are forwarded. In this paper, we propose a new
link metric which can correctly predict future link state. Using huge volumes of Received Signal Strength Indication
(RSSI) data measured in a suburban area, we evaluate the performance of a smart-grid using the proposed link
metric by computer simulations in terms of data collection rate.
