[Special Talk] A Parameter-Extraction Method for Microwave Transversal Resonator Array Bandpass Filters with Direct Source/Load Coupling

(in English) A new simple and straightforward parameter extraction method for a transversal resonator array bandpass filter is descirbed in this paper. The transversal resonator array filter consists of parallel connected resonators in its circuit model. The resonators in the circuit model express eigen resonant modes appearing in coupled resonators of microwave filters. Thus, the transversal resonator array filter circuit is a general equivalent circuit of microwave filters including conventional direct-coupled resonator filters. Therefore, it is very important for filter designs to evaluate circuit parameters of the transversal resonator array filter circuit. This paper presents our proposed parameter extraction method, which can extract all the circuit parameters only from input reflection phases of N-th order bandpass filter. The effectiveness of the proposed extraction technique is verified through the applications to multimode resonator filters. Finally, a proposed formula for the evaluation of insertion losses due to unloaded Q factors in the transversal resonator array filter is also introduced.
