In recent years, mobile terminals have been required to cover wide range of RF frequencies for globalization and high capacity. Thus reconfigurable RF circuits for the terminals attract much attention because they are expected to be able to flexibly change many frequency bands under the control of the communication systems. Two-stage reconfigurable bandpass filter (BPF) with eight-frequency selection capability has been proposed for this goal. Bandwidth variations of the reconfigurable BPF have been analyzed by calculating external Q and coupling coefficients. In this paper, a bandwidth controlled two-stage three-bit reconfigurable BPF using LC parallel coupling circuit is proposed. It is designed to cover frequency range from 2 to 3 GHz and to switch among eight frequencies with approximately equal intervals. The bandwidth variation ratio of the maximum to the minimum bandwidths is 1.17. |
