We try to lead people to develop desirable behavior by showing their own ranking based on the amount of the behavior, which introduces competition.
Our previous work proposed {it Top of Worlds}, which is the methodology for showing favorable rankings. Top of Worlds calculates rankings not only on a whole set of the participants but on a subset of them, and selects the best subset for each participants. Then, participants get rankings on the best subset as if each of them looks higher in a rank. Although we had found that the effect of Top of Worlds in the sense of atcivating participants, we have not confirmed that our method provokes their desirable behavior.
In this paper, we report new result that shows our method induce a target's desirable behavior, english learning, in the experiment. |
