This study is aims to perform high-speed communication of about several hundred Mbps in visible light communication(VLC) using LEDs. However, LED-VLC has difficulty achieving high communication speed because the bandwidth of the LED is still around few tens of MHz. In this study, we use OFDM which is spectrally efficient modulation techniques in order to be high-speed transmission for VLC. The optical modulation index characteristics of OFDM were measured to investigate the effect of a high peak-toaverage ratio (PAPR) in E/O conversion. As a result, we have made it clear that the optical modulation index of 13% is optimal. |
