A movable optical lens array that uses acoustic radiation force was investigated. The lens array consists of a glass plate, two piezoelectric bimorph transducers, and a transparent viscoelastic gel film. A cylindrical lens array with a lens pitch of 4.6 mm was fabricated using the acoustic radiation force generated by the flexural vibration of the glass plate at the driving frequency of 113 kHz. The light paths through a lens were calculated by ray tracing. The focal point and the positioning of the lenses can be changed using the input voltage and the driving phase difference between the two transducers, respectively. The focal length decreased with increasing input voltage because the lens displacement amplitude increased. The position of the lens array shifted in the length direction of the glass plate with the change in phase difference, and the distance moved was 4.6 mm when the phase difference changed from 0 to 360$^circ$, which corresponds to half the wavelength of the flexural vibration of the glass plate. The translation property of the lens array was applied in an optical scanner, and the maximum angle of refraction was 4.9$^circ$ when the driving voltage was 70 V$_{pp}$. |
