As the number of the smartphone users rapidly increases, various problems about using smartphones have been recognized. It is important to identify in what areas and to what extent accessing to the internet and other services through smartphones has effects on communication patterns and users’ life, to analyze the causes of recognized problems, and to build up better strategies of using mobile devises. In order to address these problems, the Precede-Proceed Model(PP Model or MIDORI Model), which was originally built to provide health promotion planning and evaluation, was employed in the field of communication through mobile devises. A preliminary survey concerning the effects of using smartphones on female university students’ life was conducted, which corresponded to the needs assessment phase of the PP Model. After reporting the results of the survey, the factors concerning the assessments of social factors and epidemiological factors were extracted. |
